Fall Weekend Retreats
"Messy Spirituality”
Do you ever feel like you don’t pray enough? Read your Bible enough? Share your faith enough?
Love God enough? Or maybe you feel like you simply are not spiritual enough? These are
questions posed by Michael Yaconelli in his book, Messy Spirituality. Although we are not
spending time in this book, we will be exploring its assertions that “imperfection,
unfinishedness, and messiness are, in fact, the earmarks of true Christianity.” This weekend will
be a strong antidote for the spiritual perfectionism that plagues many of us. We will focus on
the truths that we are loved and enjoyed, shortcomings and all, by the God who meets us and
transforms us in the midst of a messy and unpredictable life.

What to expect at a weekend retreat: Our contemplative retreats are not “totally silent” –
although you may choose to be – as we enjoy conversation around meals and in our group
sessions. Times of teaching and worship are blended with lots of time to “be still”. You will be
offered several “tools” for using your time alone that work well within the context of your
unique temperament and lifestyle – and that will last far beyond this weekend!
You will have a private bedroom and bath, tasty and healthy food, lovely grounds and a small
retreat atmosphere, limited to 25 people.
How to Register for a weekend retreat: You may download and fill out a Registration Form and
mail with a check for $250 to WellSpring, Box 7384, Menlo Park, CA 94026. Or call
650.328.8966 for more information. We’ll send you a confirmation letter with details and
directions immediately.
